We are a social enterprise that delivers affordable clinical and supportive care to patients with life limiting illnesses at the comfort of their own homes
Who We Are
We are an initiative that delivers affordable and high quality homebased nursing and in home therapy (physiotherapy and renal replacement therapies) for chronically ill patients of middle to low income communities in Kenya.
We also reduce and re-distribute unpaid care performed by women family caregivers in rural Kenya by training them on the basics of caregiving like wound care, vital taking, grooming, ambulation, pressure area care and toileting. This way we improve the health outcomes of the patients they take care of and equip them with skills on caregiving, which can earn them an income.
We systematically lower the cost of care through our online platform that facilitates exchange of used homecare equipment like hospital beds, oxygen concentrators, wheelchairs, etc.
Every new year 1 Million Kenyans are pushed below the poverty line by healthcare related costs. Bena Care exists to narrow this gap by providing affordable medical assistance, nursing and caregiving at home. This way, your family can experience peace of mind as the experts handle the care of your loved ones. Our nurses and caregivers offer help with activities of daily living ADLs, (feeding, vital taking, medication reminders, companionship, grooming, toileting etc.)
The nurses offer clinical services like venipuncture, intubation, tracheostomy care, lifting and turning, wound care, catheterization, patient counseling, assessment etc. Some of the conditions that we manage at home are dementia, cancers, diabetes, stroke, heart failure, Alzheimer’s, joint (knee, hip or shoulder) replacement.
